“Days Go By” is The Offspring’s ninth studio album from the punk rock bank. This is a main single as well as the title of the album and is came out June 26, 2012 and was produced by Bob Rock. Even though The Offspring has been around a long time is was their new drummer’s Pete Parada first appearance since joining a year before the last album. This is a great song for my readers out there that are into the old Offspring punk sound. A good Goldfinger, NoFx, and Rancid sound to the track but the album overall mostly. That`s my opinion decide for yourself and leave some feedback on what you think.
2. Shinedown – “Unity”
“Unity” comes off Shinedown’s fourth studio album and was official the beginning of January in 2012. The song “Unity” was released as a single by the band on March 12th. The track “Unity” comes off Shinedowns album called “Amaryllis.” The track top the charts in 2012 and is a solid song to add to any rock or alternative songs when you want new song releases. Shinedown has some of the best rock songs ever and have a substantial part in my music library.
3. Five Finger Death Punch – “Coming Down”
“Coming Down” is a single off the popular “American Capitalist” album by Five Finger Death Punch. Personally I liked the album a lot but many of the more common Five Finger Death Punch fans are saying its a boring album and not nearly as good as previous albums. Some of the other better songs off of the American Capitalist album are “The Pride”,”Under and Over it”, and “Back for More.”
4. Volbeat – “Still Counting”
“Still Counting” by Volbeat is one of the most popular rock songs at the moment and is at the top of the new singles for 2012 in rock music. Volbeat’s whole album is worth buying and listening to it’s called “Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood.” Volbeat is a Danish band and this is their third studio album. “Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood” is a follow up to their very popular album“Rock The Rebel/Metal The Devil.” That album made them very popular outside their home country and spread through Europe and then all over the world. This is definitely a great band to check out and add to your music library and will help you in your search for new rock songs for 2012 and 2013.
5. Linkin Park – “Burn It Down”
“Burn It Down” came off of Linkin Park’s fifth studio album called “Living Things” and was the first new single they released off the album. If you are looking for the best new rock songs for 2012 and 2013 you are for sure going to have some Linkin Park involved in that library. Their album“Living Things” has multiple great songs on it and is a totally different sounding Linkin Park if you are used to their sound. This song as well as the album are unique because most of the album was produced by the famous Rick Rubin, who also was apart of “A Thousand Suns” and “Minutes to Midnight,” which were award winning albums from Linkin Park. Therefore if you liked the sound of those 2 albums you will be greatly into their new singles for 2012 and 2013.
6. Slash Ft Myles Kenndy and the Conspirators – “You’re a Lie”
Slash’s latest album called “Apocalyptic Love” came out on May 22, 2012, along with that came the new single for 2012 called “You’re a Lie.” Slash was impressed with Myles Kennedy’s lyrics and asked him to be the front for Slash’s touring band. Myles Kennedy is still the front man for Alter Bridge and Slash is also still the guitarist for Velvet Revolver which are apparently still a band. Some of the lyrics off the album refer back to the problems Myles Kennedy has had over the years with his battle against drugs. The album was produced by Eric Valentine and the touring band which later became known as Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. The Conspirators are two Canadian rockers which are drummer Brent Fitz and the bassist Todd Kerns. The new single “You’re A Lie” is one of the hottest new rock songs in 2012 right now and is at the top of the charts. The band says this new single barely made it to the album, well luckily it did because it’s one of the most popular new rock songs out right now.
7. Foo Fighters – “These Days”
These Days is a new single from the Foo Fighters off their album “Wasting Light”, which is their seventh studio album as a band. These Days was actually not the first single off the album but the third, however its my favorite song off the album, therefore I think its worthy enough to make my list of new rock songs for 2012.
8. The Black Keys – “Gold On The Ceiling”
The Black Keys released their seventh album called “El Camino in 2011” but they are now touring so songs are peaking in popularity as new singles in 2012 and 2013 as some of the best new rock songs. The Black Keys have been around a little over a decade and are out of Akron, Ohio. They started by growing their underground popularity and dedicated fans into one of the most popular bands in the country. Their new singles for 2012 are “Gold On The Ceiling” and “Lonely Boy.”
