The best grunge band ever.30seconds to mars is good but can’t compare to nirvana. Smells like teen spirit, breed, school etc best song ever made in 90’s

+3 nirvana invented grunge,
without them there would be not 30stm and if there were there music would be nothing like it is now.
nirvanas music means something. it has emotion, and kurt cobain expressed his depression through his music. 30stm music means nothing, its just words that rhyme and music. although I do like 30stm but there music has no soul. nirvana had great vocals, great guitars, and amazing drums. they were one of the greatest bands of all times. THEY WERE THE BEATLES OF GRUNGE.

+1 It is quite obvious that nirvana is the best in this. As for those complaining about thirty seconds to mars just remember the singer may be obnoxious, and loud, but than again that is what most grudge is these days. They still suck though. The one I don’t understand being on this list is linkin park. Grudge itself is supposed to be loud music, but linkin park has nothing to do with that. Its just a mixture of rap alternative rock, and classic justin bieber suck.

Are you kidding? Three days grace? 30 seconds to mars? Don’t you want to put tokio hotel too? Is the only douche-band whos left. For gods sake, they are not grunge or alternarive roxk bands! Some of they are not even bands! Other thing that piss me off is that in a best rock band list someone put the beatles. THEY ARE NOT ROCK! They’re ARE POP! ROCK IS LED ZEPPELIN AND ROLLING STONES, THE WHO, PINK FLOYD, THE DOORS OR AEROSMITH! LEARN PEOPLE..

+5 Although 30 Seconds To Mars are my top band, Nirvana created the genre. 30STM aren’t even Grunge, maybe 10% Grunge. 30STM = 40% Progressive/Alternative Metal, 10% Grunge, 50% Hard Rock. Nirvana are 95% Grunge.

Nirvana is amazing! Kurt cobains EPIC vocals and guitar with the aid of dave grohls epic drumming and krist novoselic’s awesome bass skills give the band a perfect sound! 30 seconds to mars sucks! They are an insult to alternative rock, they are not even close to being on par with nirvana! They should not be ahead of bands like Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden!

+4 Nirvana is one of the best bands of all time…! And for sure the best in this category… 30 sec to mars nowhere near it…
Nirvana achieved its greatness in a span of just 4-5 years… 30 sec to mars haven’t achievd even 1/10th of it in 9 years!

Nirvana is one of te best bands of all time! Lithium, Dumb, Come as you are, smells like teen spirit! Just to name a few epic songs! 30 seconds to mars is a terrible band I have no idea how anyone could like them! They don’t compare to nirvana in any way!

-1 30 seconds to mars? Sorry never heard of them. The kings of grunge Kurt Cobain and Dave grohl they created the freaking genera. 30 seconds to mars I just listened to one of their songs they are not even grunge they sound like a boy band that justin beiber would listen to.

+1 30 Seconds to Mars?!?! Nirvana is the common denominator of Grunge! Kurt Cobain is one of the best singers and guitarist of the history of Rock! Jared Leto can’t compete with Kurt!

Nirvana isn’t first!?! There’s something wrong here… It’s disturbing, very disturbing.. 30 seconds to mars is an ok band, but honestly they shouldn’t even be in the top ten let alone first.

Nirvana is the god of all alternative/grunge bands ever. Kurt is such a inspiration to a lot of bands today. Their music will always be around and well known for their music.

True grunge music! This band captured and expressed the emotion of a broken and lost generation. 30 Seconds To Mars? Isn’t that some kind of emo pop garbage?

An amazing band that’ll never be seen again by the same standards as they were in their prime. Simply the best grunge band of all time with no doubt.

Nirvana should be at first… No body could compare this band.30 seconds to mars are also good but nirvana is just the the best. Rip kurt
